If You Go Down to the Woods Today...

With festival season so close we can almost smell it, thousands of us are already stocking up on our camping essentials and preparing for the long days filled with cider and mud to our knees.

If cold chips, long queues and muddy campsites aren’t quite your forte then try one of Britain’s smaller, quirkier and slightly less dirty kind of events like the Skye Music Festival, The Outsider Festival, Latitude and various concerts performed within the fir tree walls of Cheshires Delamere forest.

With the idyllic setting and forest surroundings, Delamere Forest provides the perfect back to nature festival experience without the carnage, dirt and chaos the larger mega-festivals promise to deliver throughout the summer months. With Jamie Cullum, Paul Weller, Ian Holland and The Charletons having already played previous, 2008s Delamere line-up looks set to top even that of Leeds and Reading and V-festival. KT Tunstall, James Morrison, The Zutons and Elbow are all set to light up the stage this summer.

If a buzzing yet peaceful atmosphere and the feeling of safety in the knowledge that the public port-a-loo’s don’t carry a health hazard warning is what you’re after to pass those lazy summer days then these eco-friendly, hazardless ‘boutique’ festivals are exactly what the doctor ordered.
