LFW, you have been good to me

I have absolutely no idea how i've kept up the energy to go to shows all day and parties every night this fashion week but i've loved every minute of it covering it all for Ribbed magazines supplement (www.ribbedmagazine.com).

First day was Maria Grachvogel (where I went backstage after the show to interview the designer), Aminaka Wilmont, Ashley Isham, the Gemma Slack presentation (a-mazing!), Bernard Chandran (see the legs shoot I did last week in WHAT? magazine given out front row) and a few others showing at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. That night we went to Trousers London pop-up store drinks reception then Liberty's for the Glass Magazine launch party down in the champagne bar - los of free vodka cocktails, wine and good music! We left early to head to Club Runway for the Lina Osterman x Metal Magazine party which turned out to be a let down as all the free alcohol had dissapeared by the time we got there, so we took the only sensible option and went to wetherspoons instead (paying £££'s for drinks during LFW is definitley out the question) - who needs fashion parties when there's a 'spoons down the road?!

Second day was Kinder Aggugini, House of Blue Eyes (DIY clothes and fierce male models), Iris Van Herpen and John Rocha (happy 25 years in the biz!). That night we went to the PPQ aftershow party (also at Club Runway) with more free cocktails and even a performance from Amy WInehouse's niece, Dionne Broomfield.

Still going strong by Sunday, I sat opposite Janet Jackson at Todd Lynn and got a bit freaked out by the bright pink veils at Meadham Kirchhoff. Managed to get right at the front of the que to the Linda Farrow for Roisin Murphy party at Club Aura that night, giving us chance to run to the bar and grab as many free mojitos as we could carry. Roisin dj-ed and sang a few tracks off her new album and there were exotic dancers with big feather headdresses prancing about.

Definitely a lot weaker by Monday, I missed the FAD awards and Osman party to sleep. Forgive me, LFW really takes it out of you. I was back on the ball by yesterday for Ashish (managed to bag front row seats next to LOVE magazine, Paloma Faith and Girls Alouder Nicola Roberts for what turned out to be one of my favourite shows so far) and Basso and Brooke (sat opposite who we thought to be Rihanna and in actual fact turned out to be The Noisettes Shingai, we think...). Got my make-up done by Mac in the press lounge then headed to Liberty's again for the 10 Corso Como collaboration launch party (more champagne and canapes...yum) and apparantly Nuclear Wintour was lurking about but we missed her to go for a wee, then the Basso and Brooke after party at Chinawhites.

I'm now officially shattered but going to miss the most self-indulgent week of the fashion year, especially all the free daily champers from 11am onwards, free food, free make-up...basically all the free stuff and hanging out drinking, eating and talking fashion, all in the name of 'work'.

Highlights included the Gemma Slack presentation where I got to speak to the lovely designer herself, the Ashish collection, the PPQ and Linda Farrow parties and general rendevousing with friends! Here are some other higlights in photos from the week....
