LFW FEB OH 9

So London Fashion Week Feb ’09 began but due to it being ridiculously on the weekend this season, it scuppered my show plans. Being a student and all, I needed to work, eurgh.

I did make it to bungalow 8 on Friday night though to some Fashbash Soundclash event. We left before the party really started going (we think…) but nonetheless, we were a couple of free drinks and goodie bags better off afterwards.

The PPQ after show party was Sunday night at Cafe De Paris near Leicester Square where, surprisingly, we didn’t have to que as long as we expected. We did however have to que alongside KFC and directly outside it’s front door (classy, right?), parting occasionally for the odd KFC enthusiast. Inside there was free sherry all round and the Noisettes played a good set. The party died down quite early though and there was none of the usual PPQ happenings to gossip over at a later date. Oh well.

Yesterday I had a look round the LFW exhibition tent then hopped over to Shoreditch to the House of Blue Eyes show assisting KABIR backstage at the Beach Blanket Babylon club. Models were tall, small, big, little, pregnant, unidentifiable, hot, not and anything else you can think of – including naked of course. Alice Dellal, KABIR and Jodie Harsh walked down the weirdly placed catwalk (across the three floors of the club with Blows PR girls holding the crowds back) and models got naked (including Alice), dragged each other along with chains and danced provocativley on the bar. The clothing was obviously S&M inspired with big chunky boots, pop socks, and lots and lots of glitter.

When the show had finished (not that anyone had actually realised), things got hectic as it seemed the entire club were heading for the same one door. After we had all suitably crushed the poor PR girl, we finally made it outside to meet a friend. Afterwards we headed to the AnOther magazine party at the Double Club which turned out to be really good despite arriving quite late. Drinks were free, everyone was dancing (on the revolving dance floor) and the music was great. Peaches performed and I spotted Kate Moss and Jamie Hince amongst the party goers, as well as boogieing on down with Jefferson Hack.

The final day of the London Fashion Week and another party - this one the Kokon To Zai aftershow at the Ghost club in Farringdon. The pub called us to it first and after a drink and some chips we went inside and chatted to some people, drank a couple of disgusting free cocktails and left.

Tonight we're off to New Slang in Kingston to watch the Macabees play so maybe see you there!
