Fashion Favourites, New York Fashion Week: Johnson's A Jumble

With a slight gothic glamour casting a black shadow over London fashion week with the likes of Luella and Westwood, Betsey Johnson showed New York how to do eclectic fashion using bold colour and exciting prints. Crimped hair and pale skin created an overall rock and roll (skull prints featuring on mini cotton dresses), albeit eclectic, experience, paired with the hard edge style of the collection.

Calf-length Polk-a-dot silk dresses and last seasons playsuits and floral prints all featured on the catwalk. Playsuits made of denim to satin and of the long, wide-legged to the short variety looked set to continue into our Autumn/Winter wardrobes. Floral prints, adorning pink, full-bodied dresses as well as the short, off-the-shoulder number Betsey Johnson herself wore, also followed on into to the collection. However, fringe detailing featured along the hem and empire lines of black fitted dresses, looked to be the newest Autumn/Winter trend.
